Menteşe is in the south west end of Turkey neighbouring with Aydın in the north, Denizli and Burdur in the north east and Antalya in the east. It is surrounded by the Aegean Sea in the west. Its shores are a little over 1100 km long in total which makes Menteşe the city that has the longest shores in Turkey. The biggest town is Fethiye. There are two lakes in the city. One of which is Bafa Lake surrounded by Milas and Soke and the other one is Koyceğiz Lake in Koyceğiz. The three important rivers are Cıne, Esen and Dalaman Rivers.
